GSRTC’s mini bus falls into gorge in Dang

SURAT: A mini bus of the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) plunged into a gorge near Malegaon in Dang on Tuesday.
The bus was on way to Ahwa from Saputara and the accident happened when the driver lost control over the vehicle while taking a sharp turn. Sources in the Dang district administration said that there were around five passengers in the bus, but there was no confirmation about loss to life till the time of going to press.

According to sources, the conductor of the bus sustained serious injuries.


B Kumar, district collector, told TOI: “I have not received any information about loss of life. Teams for rescue along with ambulance have been rushed to the spot.”


Officials in Dang informed that the driver lost control over the steering as a result the bus slipped into the gorge.


The incident comes barely 10 days after a bus carrying around 97 persons, majority of whom were school students, fell into a gorge on Mahal Bardipada road. Total 10 persons including seven children had died in the accident on December 22. The students were participating in a tour organised by a tuition class operating in Amroli area of Surat city.
