Haryana: 179 doctors quit job, govt orders probe. A total of 179 doctors have resigned from job due to various reasons in state which a matter of serious concern, people are facing lack of medical facilities. Along with this some doctors are yet to submit the required formalities.It has also created a problem for health department as those doctors are neither working with department nor enabling it to fill all posts. One of the sources said that a new list of such doctors, excluding above, is also being prepared. It came to light that a lot of doctors had resigned due to job stress and additional work load. The list revealed that 35 doctors had resigned in 2016 .Ambala has topped the list with 18 resignations of doctors followed by Jhajjar and Fatehabad with 15 and 14 respectively. Beside this 12 doctors had also quit their job in Bhiwani. The data revealed that out of 179 doctors, 150 doctors have quit their job in last five years. The increasing stress and additional work load came out as prominent reason behind their resignations. It also came to know that the doctors have to bear the responsibility of clerical staff as the posts of concerned staff are vacate in many hospitals of the state. Also it comes to light that, government has served the notice to those doctors asking them either to rejoin there duty or submit the necessary documents for resignations within the given time frame.
One of the officials said that many doctors have joined jobs in other state or had started private clinic without performing formalities for resignation. Due to which, their resignation is still pending. The department is lacking doctors in state and also helpless as it can recruit doctors only against sanctioned post. Contrary to it, the Haryana Civil Medical Services, an Organisation of government doctors, claims that the lack of facilities and poor service conditions had forced them to quit the job.”
