Bikini model Renae Ayris, 28, has confessed she suffers from a crippling phobia of towels.
The former Miss Universe Australia, who spends much of her time at the beach, revealed the bizarre and unfortunate condition during an Instagram Q&A session on Tuesday.
'For anyone that doesn't know, I have a phobia of towels,' she said when asked what her biggest fear was.

Unsurprisingly, Renae's social media followers began asking her how she dries herself after going to the beach or having a shower.
'Heaps of you have asked this,' she replied.
'For the beach I get the "Turkish Towels" which are kind of just material and feel nothing like a towel.'

She then outlined her strict requirements for the towels she uses in her own home.
'For showers, I have to find seriously soft towels that have a "velvety" side. They have to be dried in the dryer (not outside) and washed with lots of softener,' she said.
'I struggle going to hotels - the towels are gross and I have goosebumps writing this.'

Back in 2015, Renae spoke about her disgust of fluffy textures, telling Maxim that she couldn't stand feeling towels on her hands or feet.
'It is like nails on a chalkboard. It is the texture of the towel that freaks me out,' she said.
Despite her phobia, Renae tackled her fear of fuzziness last year when she posed in nothing but a bath towel to advertise haircare products on Instagram.
