Khanna: Police detain two persons carrying Rs 55 lakh cash in car

LUDHIANA: The Khanna police on Wednesday detained two persons after Rs fifty five lakh cash was recovered from their car near Alour on GT road here. The police identified them as Pardeep Kumar of Sadat and Harish Kumar of Babugarh Cantt, both from Hapur, Uttar Pradesh.
DSP Khanna Deepak Rai said that the police party was checking the suspicious vehicles and persons at a check post near Pristine Mall on GT Road.
They said that the police party stopped a car Maruti Brezza bearing registration number U.P-37-E-9786 coming from Gobindgarh for the checking purpose.
On searching the car, they recovered Rs 55 lakhs of cash from the vehicle.
The DSP said that both persons alongwith the cash were handed over to investigation wing of Income Tax department Ludhiana, for further investigation.
