The family of a young girl left brain dead after a garden tap gave her a massive electric shock has been offered $1million in compensation.

Denishar Woods, 11, was zapped while turning off a hose at her Perth home in March of 2018.

The shocking accident left the bubbly youngster with catastrophic brain injuries.

After initially rejecting a compensation package of around $3.2million, the WA Government have since offered a grace payment of $1million.

Woods' family is suing the Government and could be eligible for millions of dollars in compensation - but only if the Department of Housing is found guilty of failing to provide safe housing.

A spokeswoman for the WA Government told the ABC the act of grace payment would be managed by the Public Trustee.

'The intention of the payment is to allow money to be administered by the Public Trustee to meet Denishar's ongoing care needs,' she said.

'The payment will be conditional on the family's agreement that the $1 million will be deducted from any damages which are ultimately awarded against the State and/or repayment in the event that Denishar recovers damages from a non-State party.'

Lacey Harrison, Denishar's mother, confirmed the family are yet to formally accept the grace payment, before adding it would be helpful.

'It means we can focus on giving her the best start for this year,' she said.

'Hopefully it's the beginning of some better things for Denishar to get back to some kind of normality.

'It is about giving her the best quality of care.'
