FALL RIVER - A car crashed into the bottom floor of building 15 at Four Winds apartments, 5500 North Main St., this morning.

Fifteen minutes after responding to the resulting fire, firefighters were seen venting the roof of the building.

Paramedics and police removed a victim from the scene, shielding them from view of the large crowd that had gathered. A Medflight was requested for two victims.

A Red Cross vehicle also responded to assist displaced residents in the multi-unit apartment building.

At about 10:45 a.m., firefighters sounded the evacuation horn as flames were seen leaping from the second floor windows.
