NEW DELHI: A 15-year-old girl was found with her throat slit in her house in west Delhi’s Khyala on Monday night. The girl’s family members said her younger brother was also in the house at the time of the incident. A case under sections of murder has been registered, said DCP (west) Monika Bhardwaj.
The girl’s father told the police that around 8.30pm, he was at his shop with his wife and elder daughter when his son came running to him, informing him about the incident. When the family members reached the spot, they found the girl lying in a pool of blood in her room. Her throat was found slit with a sharp object. She was taken to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.
Multiple teams have been created to solve the case. A forensic team inspected the crime spot to collect evidence in case somebody from outside entered the house. A team of officers is speaking to the girl’s brother to ascertain the exact sequence of events. It was found that he was in a different room and only got to know about the incident when his sister didn’t respond to his calls.
Investigating teams are looking into the robbery angle and are checking if anything from the house is missing since the murder. The police are speaking to the neighbours to probe if they saw any stranger in the vicinity on Monday evening. Officers are waiting for the autopsy report. The angle of personal enmity is also being investigated. The girl’s friends from the area and school are being questioned.
