A 32-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stalking a girl and trying to click her pictures in East Delhi's Shakarpur area, police said on Monday. The accused works at the printing press of a leading newspaper.
According to the police, the girl, a class 12th student, reported the matter to the police on December 30. In her complaint, she told the police that the accused had jumped on the terrace of her house and tried to click her picture. "She told the police that she noticed him clicking the pictures. The accused had on several occasions tried to talk to her but she would refuse each time," said a police official.
The incident occurred on December 28 and the case was registered on December 30 under section 354 D (stalking). The accused, identified as Vijay Mishra, resided with his family in Shakarpur close to the victim's residence. He is married and has a 10-year-old child. The accused works at the printing press of a leading Hindi newspaper. Further investigations are underway.
