A man has died after being pulled unconscious from the water at a popular Sydney beach.
The man, aged 34, was pulled from the water at Clovelly, in the city's east, just after 2pm on Tuesday.
Surf lifesavers and paramedics performed CPR on the man for more than 30 minutes but he could not be saved.

Hundreds of swimmers who flocked to the beach to celebrate the New Year could do nothing but watch on as the tragic incident unfolded in front of them.
A spokesman for NSW Ambulance said the man did not respond to a defibrillator and doctors on scene performed CPR for 'quite some time'.
Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command are investigating the incident
The man's death follows 30 drownings at beaches across Australia during December.
