Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 30, 2018, announced renaming of the Ross Island as Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Dweep, the Neil Island as Shaheed Dweep and the Havelock Island as Swaraj Dweep. Gurgaon to Gurugram: In April 2016, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced renaming arguing that the new name would help preserve the "rich heritage" of the city by emphasising its history and mythological association with Dronacharya.
