People always had a soft corner for the sedan, which stood out from the common, run of the mill hatchbacks with their wide boots and long, sweeping design. Car manufacturers are looking to redefine this segment in 2019 by bringing in high performance, cutting-edge cars for masses. With frequent launches of better and faster cars, car buyers have many options. We bring you a list of the five best sedans to look forward to in 2019:
1. Toyota CamryFrom its original compact, small capacity body in 1982 to the long, sweeping hybrid sedan, Toyota Camry has had its share of technological advancements. The Japanese manufacturer is set to revamp the Camry with an all new face uplift and feature additions. The 2019 Camry looks a lot like its high-performance super car cousin, the Lexus LFA. It is a fitting promotion to the common man’s super car. Though the 2.5 litre inline 4 hybrid engine stays the same, the driver can expect a plusher drive with improved interiors and an infotainment system. It is expected to be priced at Rs 37 lakh.2. Audi A8/A8L
The already well recognised Audi A8L is practically a land yacht when it comes to road presence. But clearly Audi wasn’t satisfied with their result as they have gone ahead and almost reworked the entire 3 litre V6 engine, taking into consideration the renewed emission norms, while facilitating longer coasting and hence better fuel economy. It is priced as the previous gen, at Rs 1.2 crore.
BMW has always treated the 3-series as the youngest child of the family, who gets pampered the most and tries to imitate its elder siblings as closely as possible. The new 3-series has now become more in line to the family design, which has gone sharper and is quite reflected in its face, specifically the bumpers and headlamps.
4. Hyundai Elantra
The 2019 Hyundai Elantra has got a new face-lift which looks even more edgy, housing a large grille, sleek headlamps and LED DRLs integrated. Considered as a more luxurious alternative to the Verna, the Elantra is coming to India with 2.0 litre and 1.6 litre engine capacity options.5. Honda CivicThe most revered sought after sedan is finally set to return to India in 2019. Although the higher performance and original hatchback version of the car never saw daylight in India, the new face-lift is expected to take the sedan class by storm. These are the most exciting sedans set to hit the Indian markets through 2019.
