Vadodara district gets regular govt pleader

A regular district government pleader for Vadodara was appointed by the state government after three years. Advocate Raghuveer Pandya was the last regular district government pleader following which Manoj Darji served as the in-charge district government pleader for a period of three years.
Desai, who has been practising in Vadodara since 1987, had earlier served as assistant government pleader for four years in 1996. In the past, Desai has also been a managing committee member of Baroda Bar Association for two terms.
His current term as district government pleader will be of one year, but it can be extended by the state government.
The district government pleader is the main advocate who represents Gujarat state in the district courts in civil as well criminal cases in which the state has been made a party.
