U.S. Stock-Index Futures Rise in First Trading Day of 2019

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures rallied, signaling a positive start for cash markets on the first trading day of 2019.

March contracts on the S&P 500 Index rose as much as 0.6 percent after the underlying gauge capped off its worst year since the financial crisis on Monday, while those on the Nasdaq 100 and Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.7 percent and 0.6 percent respectively.
