After stopping train services for over three days, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) finally restored services between M.G. Road and Indiranagar stations on the purple line at around 9.35 a.m. on Tuesday.
Services were partially closed on the purple line from 8 p.m. on December 28 to carry our maintenance work at Trinity Metro Station. Thousands of passengers heading towards Baiyappanahalli had a tough time commuting in the absence of regular train services between the two stations. The BMRCL had provided over 100 free shuttle bus services between Cubbon Park Metro Station and Baiyappanahalli.
Chief PRO of BMRCL B.L.Yashavanth Chavan said, “Trains started moving towards Trinity Metro Station at around 9.35 a.m. We will be operating train services with normal frequency after some time.”
The official said that till train services were restored on Tuesday morning, shuttle bus services were provided for office goers from Cubbon Park metro station.
