The Valasaravakkam police arrested two mobile phone snatchers within hours with help of the CCTV cameras and recovered six devices from them.

They found a duo fleeing on a two-wheeler after snatching the phone and identified them as Krishnamoorthy (20) of KK Nagar and Suresh (21) of Valasaravakkam. Both of them were secured and remanded in judicial custody on Sunday. Police noted that Suresh is an accused in robbery cases in Teynampet and Pondy Bazaar.
In another case, the Sembium police arrested a 19-year-old mobile phone snatcher. When K Nirmala (40) of Vyasarpadi was waiting for bus at Perambur bus terminus on December 26, the teenager allegedly snatched her mobile phone. Based on her complaint, Sembium police arrested the suspect, S Ganesan of Pattalam, on Sunday and remanded him in judicial custody.
Police said that Balasubramanian of Valasaravakkam had his mobile phone snatched on Sunday. Based on his complaint, a case was registered and cops went through the footage from the CCTV cameras in the locality.
