Dance dept to host international seminar
TNN | Jan 2, 2019, 04:11 ISTVadodara: Starting from January 5, the Department of Dance of M S University’s Faculty of Performing Arts will organize a two-day international seminar.
The seminar is being organized on the topic of ‘Relevance of performing arts and visual arts in contemporary society: a perspective’.
“Eminent author, critic and historian Ashish Mohan Khokar will deliver the keynote address while Nalini Kamlini Asthana will be the chief guest,” said Jagdish Gangani, head of the department.
“It is for the first time that we are combining visual and performing arts together through this seminar,” he said, adding that as a new trend, students and staff of the department will stage performances during the cultural evenings that will be held as a part of the seminar.
“We will have professor Gurpreet Lauren, Dr Jayant Shevtekar, professor Deepak Kannal, Mukund Bhole, Pandit Sudhir Mainkar, K Ganesh Kumar, Dr Uma Rele and professor Mahesh Champaklal as resource persons,” he said.tnn
