Jerusalem saw an increase in Chinese tourist last year and as per the annual tourism report of the Euromonitor International with an increase of 40 percent tourists to Jerusalem in 2018, it is one of the fastest growing destinations in the world.

Doron Spielman, vice president of the City of David foundation in the center of Jerusalem’s Old City stated that there is common grounds between the Chinese and Jewish people.

The Jews had built a wall at the same time as the Great Wall of China which the Chinese people love to see.

The City of David park had earlier announced the translation of its popular night-time sound show into Mandarin , the official language of China to lure more Chinese tourists.

Spielman stated that there were not too many places in the world where Chinese people can come and find another group of people that go back thousand of years  as they do.

Tourists can sift through debris to find their next archeological discoveries in the City of  David and the Chinese tourists top the list of incoming tourists from Asia to Israel as the destination is specifically catering to their needs.

There are initiatives like inviting Chinese chefs to teach how to cook the Chinese cuisines and the frequency of direct  flights between China and Israel further increased in 2018. Currently, there are dozens of weekly flights between the two countries.

Spielman went on saying that they were translating our films into Chinese because we want to welcome the Chinese. He wants to let them know that Israel and China share a good relation.
