Cape Town - Social media star, Cameron Dallas had a rough end to 2018.
The 24-year-old was arrested on 29 December at the upscale condo hotel Hyatt Residences Grand Aspen on charges of felony assault.
According to online reports Cameron was arrested after another guest at the hotel alleged that the young star assaulted him - resulting in a broken nose.
Cameron was reportedly released on bail and will appear in court again on 22 January.
The star, who has gone one to pursue a career in music, took to social media where he posted a mugshot of him with the caption: "Unfortunately sometimes in life you find yourself in a situation where you have to protect yourself and the people you care about, have a safe and happy new year, 2019 is going to be an amazing one.”
Cameron was previously arrested in 2015 on felony vandalism charges and held on $20k bail.
Known as the "Justin Bieber of Instagram", Cameron’s fame journey started on Vine and has seen him grow into a social media phenomenon with a combined online following of 38 million fans on social media.
