Foreign national, Nepali woman arrested for online cheating in Nepal

The couple was found possessing an Indian mobile number used to con people in the name of parcel-delivery and lottery, police said.

It is believed that they had duped eight people and amassed more than Rs 1.4 million through which involved using fake IDs on Facebook, WhatsApp and among other social networking sites, police said.

The couple used to make calls to people and ask them to deposit a certain amount in various on the pretext of delivering parcels to them, police said.

Police have lodged a criminal case against them and initiated further investigation into the case, they said.
