Rajkot: Rajkot police commissioner Manoj Agarwal said on Tuesday that providing an environment of safety and security to women and senior citizens will be high on police agenda in 2019.

Talking to reporters about New Year resolutions of city police, Agarwal said that solving traffic issues by increasing surveillance on the road is also high on the agenda.

“We want to control anti-social activities in 2019 and give a safe and secure environment to women and senior citizens,’ Agarwal said.

“Our priority in 2019 is to curb traffic-related problems. Rajkot is perhaps the only city where the number of vehicles outnumbers the population.” The traffic brigade force of 400 people allotted to Rajkot city will join duties this week and they will be deputed on all important roads for smooth management of vehicles.

Agarwal also announced that property-related offences of the last five years will be studied to curb the related crimes.
