Indore: City’s only traffic warden, 94-year-old bed-ridden Nirmala Pathak struggling to foot medical bills will be aided by the state government. On Saturday, Chief Minister announced to grant her Rs 1 lakh for her medical treatment.
After Free Press highlighted the issue of Nirmala Pathak’s illness and her inability to pay her medical bills, chief minister Kamal Nath announced the grant to Nirmala Pathak.
Congress media coordinator Narendra Saluja said Nath instructed newly deputed Indore collector Lokesh Jatav to personally visit Nirmala and give her Rs 1 lakh from chief minister’s contingency fund.
BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya and assembly constituency-2 MLA Ramesh Mendola also visited Nirmala Pathak to know about her well being. Nirmala Pathak has been known for her free voluntary services for managing traffic in Indore for last 25 years. Earlier, she also provided such services in Mumbai.
