SR Mohanty appointed MP Chief Secretary

Bhopal, S.R. Mohanty, an IAS officer of the 1982 batch, has been appointed as a new Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh.A directive issued by Principal Secretary of Personnel Administration Rashmi Arun said Mohanty will replace the outgoing Chief Secretary B.S. Singh, who retired on Monday. Mohanty, currently the president of state Secondary Education Board, will take charge on Tuesday (January 1, 2019).

MBA degree holder in Business Management from IIM Ahmadabad, Sudhi Ranjan Mohanty is a 1982 batch IAS officer. It was signalized only just after the oath taking ceremony that Mohanty could be appointed as the new Chief Secretary of the state. Senior IAS officer SR Mohanty is currently the Chairman of the Board of Secondary Education. IAS M Gopal Krishna Reddy, Manu Shrivastava and Mohammad Suleman were also in the race of the Chief Secretary, but CM Kamal Nath had instructed to appoint SR Mohanty.

Mohanty has begun administrative service in 1983 as an Assistant Collector of Sarguja. He has taken charges of many important departments. Mohanty is identified as a strict and disciplined official. Due to its strict working procedures, he has been operating different departments in a much better way.

Besides being the collector of Balaghat, Satna and Indore, he has been appointed as the Public Relations Commissioner, MD of Mark Fed, he remains in higher posts in various departments including Women and Child Development, Medical Education, Finance Corporation, Hospital, Planning Commission, School Education etc.

He becomes the choice of Kamal Nath

CM Kamal Nath, is very conscious about the promise made to the public in Congress manifesto, he has also made it clear to the officials to make the necessary preparations as soon as possible to accomplish manifesto. CM Kamal Nath is well aware that it is not possible to get rid of this challenge without the experienced and efficient management. This is only the reason that SR Mohanty has been appointed for CS as compared to other executives.
