VIJAYAWADA: Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s “dirtiest politician” remarks against his AP counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu has kicked off a political storm. TDP leaders tore the posters of KCR at dharna chowk in the city.

The leaders further denounced KCR’s “derogatory, unparliamentary, mean and foul” language and warned him to “mind his tongue and manners”. They alleged that KCR should stop reading out Modi’s script and concentrate on developing his state.

Irrigation minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao, describing KCR as a fool, advised the Telangana CM stop licking the feet of Prime Minister Modi.

The TDP leaders used the choicest abuses against KCR. If government whip B Venkanna described KCR as the worst chief minister, social welfare minister Nakka Anand Babu said it did not behove a politician of KCR’s stature to stoop low for cheap publicity. Information minister Kalva Srinivasulu advised the Telangana chief minister to learn to respect others.

TDP politburo member and agriculture minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said, “KCR does not have the right to question the commitment, integrity and honesty of Chandrababu Naidu. First, KCR should learn to stand by his word. He backtracked on several promises including making a Dalit leader first chief minister of Telangana. KCR will go down the history of Indian politics as the only chief minister, who demeaned other politicians with unparliamentary language,” Chandramohan Reddy said.

Meanwhile, scores of TDP activists staged a protest against KCR’s comments. Reports of party workers burning KCR’s effigies or tearing his photographs have come in from a few parts of AP.
