An alert was sounded in Jammu after the Army and unidentified armed men exchanged fire on Sunday morning at the Army's Ratnuchak Military Station.

A Jammu-based Army spokesperson said some suspicious movement was noticed by a sentry on duty at about 1:50 a.m. on Saturday near the Ratnuchak Military Station.

“The suspects were challenged but they did not stop. Thereafter warning shots were fired by the sentry. The suspects fired back on the sentry and rushed out of the sight. The search operation is still on,” said the spokesperson.
