“I am very happy. I want to thank TOI for organizing such a wonderful event which has brought together so many people,” Bose said. “It is a lovely morning and I hope everyone enjoys the fresh air,” Sen said.
“This is a wonderful initiative to free the roads of fumes and traffic to let people spend time playing, running and cycling without interference. Like previous years, the response has been great and we are glad to host the revellers whose numbers are growing with every season,” said Javalgi.
Sunday’s Happy Streets attendees comprised people from across the city. Salt Lake residents were joined by people from Rajarhat, Baguiati, Kankurgachi, Park Street, and even Tollygunge and Howrah.
“I have come to Happy Streets for the first time and it feels amazing. We will definitely come again,” said Saket Agarwal, a finance professional who came from Tollygunge.
