PATNA: RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav has been in the limelight for some reason or the other. After recently filing a divorce petition against his wife of six months, Aishwarya Rai, the former state health minister is in the news for holding daily janata darbar at the party headquarters in Patna. TOI’s Sheezan Nezami talked to him on the party and family affairs. Excerpts:
After keeping away from politics for around two months, you are suddenly become active. Is it keep yourself visible and relevant in RJD politics?
I was not away from politics, but had gone to Vrindavan to seek blessings of Lord Krishna. As far as my visibility is concerned, I am always in the heart of all my party men and people of Bihar.
What will be your role in RJD now?
As usual, I will support my younger brother Tejashwi Prasad Yadav to become the next chief minister of Bihar. Besides, I can also lead the party, if given the responsibility.
You talked to CM Nitish Kumar for a separate bungalow, but the same government is trying to get Tejashwi’s house vacated?
I talked to Nitish ji because we have personal relationship as well. But, still, he is my political rival. As far as Tejashwi’s bungalow is concerned, I support my brother. Whoever tries to create differences between us will be destroyed by the Sudarshan Chakra.
When are you shifting to your new bungalow?
The bungalow is being cleaned and mud-washed. Cow dung will also be used to purify it. I will shift there after January 14.
What will be the role of your Dharmanirpeksha Sevak Sangh (DSS) in the upcoming general election? Will you contest the Lok Sabha election?
DSS workers will work to defeat RSS and all those involved in creating communal disharmony. I will help youths get tickets for the election. I will contest state assembly election and stay in Bihar.
Have you changed your decision on your divorce petition?
This is my personal matter and it is already in the court. I don’t want to discuss it.
Are you still working on the movie named ‘Rudra’ based on your life?
Yes, the movie is expected to be completed in 2019. My biography will also come by March-April. It will throw light on my personal as well as professional life — how I chose politics over becoming a commercial aircraft pilot. I have been a student of Bihar Flying Club.
