Boxing Day Test day four LIVE: Cummins take six wickets as India set Australia 399 to win

Aussies in the middle, 399 to win

A quick check with the bookies (gamble responsibly) ... Australia $15, India $1.10, draw $13

Not that I'm a gambling man but Australia should be far more than $15. Their recent batting collapses and inability for anyone to go on and a make a big score, coupled together with a wearing pitch means it will take a miracle for them to save this Test.

Finch and Harris need something special here. They're both off the mark.

Australia 0-6 (Finch 3, Harris 3), require 393 to win

India finally declare, 398 runs in front

Hazlewood gets the wicket of Pant and captain Kohli decides enough is enough. Australia will require 399 runs to win the Test and it would be an absolute miracle if they could pull it off.

There will be at least 77 overs to be bowled today, as well as all of tomorrow's play, pending the weather.

Bowlers: Starc (0-11 off three), Hazlewood (2-22 off 10.3), Lyon (0-40 off 13), Cummins (6-27 off 11). Best figures ever for Cummins. Bravo.

Review turned down

Cummins and Paine reckon the new man in, Shami, has gloved one behind. It was given not out on the field and after a long deliberation ... the third umpire says he can't definitively say there was a tickle.

"I reckon he's got away with one there," says Shane Warne on Fox Sports.

India 7-100 (Shami 0, Pant 27), lead by 392 runs

100 up for India, Cummins gets his sixth

Jadeja whacks a pull shot but next ball Cummins ruffles him up with another short ball. It catches the glove and Usman Khawaja dives forward in the gully to take a nice catch.

Cummins (6-27) now has his best figures in Tests (at the moment). He took 6-79 on his debut against South Africa in 2011.

India 7-100, lead by 392 runs

While we wait for India to declare... this is quite funny

Former South African Test stars Shaun Pollock and Graeme Smith...

Pant looking good

Pant absolutely melts a cut shot/cover drive to the boundary. There is no one fielding in close now on the leg side for the Indian wicketkeeper.

Jadeja takes on a hook shot but it falls short of the man at deep square leg. There is a deliberate plan from the Australians to dig them in to him.

India 6-95 (Jadeja 1, Pant 26), lead by 387 runs

Cummins gets 5-fa!

Cummins sneaks one past the defence of Agarwal (42) and cleans bowls the opener. The big Aussie quick now has 5-14 off nine overs. It's the third time in his career Cummins has taken five or more wickets. Jadeja the new man to the crease.

India 6-83, lead by 375 runs

India lead by 375 runs

There's now a couple of half-hearted LBW shouts off the bowling of Cummins.

For Lyon, five blokes are on the fence but Pant has managed to glide one behind point for four. Superb timing.

Next over, Cummins nips one in that beats everyone, even Tim Paine. India's quicks will thoroughly enjoy seeing that!

India 5-83 (Agarwal 42 , Pant 17 ) lead by 375 runs

'Glimmer of hope' ... give me a break

Some of the commentators are remaining optimistic Australia could still somehow win this Test. Happy to be proven wrong but there are so many factors against the home side going into the fourth innings.

Meanwhile, Agarwal has just belted two sixes off Nathan Lyon down the ground in the one over. India are showing far more intent this morning and as a result Paine has had to spread his field a lot more. 14 runs off the over.

India 5-73 (Agarwal 42, Pant 11), lead by 365 runs

Pant dropped by Paine

That's two now Paine has put down in this Test. Pant, a left-hander, gets an inside edge off Cummins and Paine dives to his right but just can't snaffle it. It was a seriously difficult catch and Paine may have been wrong-footed slightly. In the context of the game it is not going to matter a whole lot. The Kohli drop in the first innings was far more costly for the Australians.

India 5-59 (Agarwal 29, Pant 10), lead by 351 runs
