Man murders wife, consumes poison

Representative imageVADODARA: A 32-year-old woman was murdered by her husband in the Charsa village of Virpur taluka in Mahisagar district on Thursday night. The husband later consumed poison after which he was rushed to a hospital.
An offence registered at the Virpur police station late on Thursday night states that the woman Leela Chauhan (32), and her husband Kanti Chauhan, had a quarrel late in the evening on the same day. Kanti allegedly hit the woman with a sharp-edged weapon on her head.
The woman was rushed to a hospital, but was declared dead. Kanti was rushed to Vadodara after primary treatment at a hospital in Virpur.
