2 on bike snatch Rs 3 lakh from woman in South Delhi

NEW DELHI: A woman lost approximately Rs 3 lakh to snatchers on a motorcycle in south Delhi’s Malviya Nagar on Friday evening. The woman was going home when two men snatched her bag.
Senior police officers said that 51-year-old Sujata Soni Dua was near Aurbindo college when the snatching happened and a case has been registered for further investigation.
Dua told cops that the incident happened at 7.30pm. In her statement, she said that she had gone to a beauty parlour and was returning home. She was carrying a bag on her right arm, which contained the cash. The men came from behind her and the pillion rider on the bike snatched the bag.
“They were so fast I could not record the registration number of the motorcycle or see their faces. The bag contained Rs 2.75 lakhs,” Dua said.
Investigating officers said that based on the information provided by the woman, they are scanning the CCTV footage from the area in the direction where the motorcycle went. Efforts are being made to identify the make of the two-wheeler and the suspects. Cops are also probing with the local informers active in the area.
