Celebrating the festive season with his friends, he was on his way home from a nearby hotel when tragedy struck.
'We just bumped into each other, we had a chat and the last thing I said was, I gave him a hug and said "see you next time",' Adam's friend Tara Williams told Nine News.
He is being remembered as a 'beautiful soul' who inspired many.

The driver was uninjured but taken to Flinders Medical Centre as a precaution. He was later charged with aggravated causing death by dangerous driving and drink-driving.
Superintendent Bob Gray told the ABC there was no footpath on the road where Adam was killed.
'Unfortunately, we've had a number of serious injuries and fatalities since December 25, and three of those have involved pedestrians,' he said.
'So pedestrians need to take responsibility as well and need to make sure they're not walking along the road if possible.'

Black Road, where Adam was killed, has no lighting or homes on either side.
However, Supt Gray said the death was totally avoidable.
'The collision the occurred was totally avoidable, that person didn’t have to make the decision to get in that vehicle when he’d been drinking – and drive that vehicle.'
The 23-year-old driver was refused bail and will appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
Adam's death brings South Australia's road toll to 79, which was 100 at the same time a year ago.
