Man gets life imprisonment for raping minor

Representative imageVADODARA: A resident of Waghodia taluka was sentenced to life imprisonment by a Savli court for raping a minor girl in his village. The accused identified as Feroz Pathan has also been fined Rs 5,000 and given a term of three years for kidnapping the minor girl.
The rape survivor had gone to buy snacks with her two sisters in Sangadol village in August 2016. Feroz intercepted the minor girl and lured her by promising to give her fruits. He took her to a field nearby and then molested her. Feroz later raped her and threatened her to keep quiet. He took her to a road nearby.
The girl kept begging to return home but Feroz didn’t let her go. He was caught by the police near a railway crossing following which the girl was handed over to her family.
