Today in History: Former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein was executed in 2006

On December 13, 2003, Saddam Hussein - the fifth president of Iraq was captured by the US forces near Tikrit, Iraq. On November 5, 2006, Saddam Hussein was convicted by an Iraqi court of crime against humanity. He was convicted in the 1982 killing of 148 Iraqi Shi’a and was sentenced to death by hanging on December 30, 2006.
