Mumbai: Politics over BrihanMumbai’s Development Control and Promotions Rules (DCPR), commonly knows as Development Plan of the city when Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil, leader of opposition (LoP) in assembly alleges that the Chief Minister’s office (CMO) indulged in making changes in DP to favour certain builders in the city.
Vikhe-Patil claimed CMO has finalises deal worth Rs 10,000 crore and has received kickback of Rs 5000 crore from the builder lobby. CMO has rubbishes allegations and asked Vikhe-Patil to apologise, else be ready to face the defamation case in the court.
A day after Sujay, son of Vikhe-Patil stated that he would contest the Lok Sabha polls from Ahmednagar even if the Congress will not give him candidature, Vikhe-Patil had targetted CMO for the first time since he became LoP in 2015. It was predicted that Sujay may join BJP before the polls as local BJP leaders had offered him to join BJP.
Vikhe-Patil blamed the chief minister made 14 changes in DPCR to favour builders. He alleged that the changes were done in slum development schemes, made changes in road width between two buildings from previous single lane of nine meter to two lane of six meter each, allowed additional FSI in Mumbai for slum rehabilitation schemes, allowed FSI and Transfer Development Rights (TDR). Vikhe-Patil claimed CMO is involved in changing these norms to favour builder lobby. CMO denied allegations.
