Brisbane, Britain’s Andy Murray, who was missing the court due to a hip injury, is all set to make come back in the International tennis with Brisbane International tournament which is scheduled to start from next week.
On Friday, he said that he still has some pain in his hip as compared to last year.
“Last year when I came here it was tough, I was struggling quite a lot but it feels better than then,” BBC quoted the former world No 1 Murray as saying.
“I need to play matches and see how it feels,” the five-times Australian Open runner-up added.
The Scot had hip surgery in January 2018 but ended his return in September to recover fully for the 2019 campaign.
He returned to the ATP tour in June this year following his operation but withdrew from Wimbledon on the eve of the Grand Slam and lost in the second round at the US Open on his return to Grand Slam.
The Scot, who is now at 256 in the world ranking due to his injury, felt that when he is able to play three, four, five matches in a row then can take it from there.
“I would just like to get through the tournaments and feel like I am able to compete and not be restricted by my hip,” the 31-year-old tennis player added.
The Scot had intended to play the Brisbane tournament at the beginning of 2018 but was forced to withdraw on the eve of the tournament due to the hip injury.
The three-time Grand Slam champion has won the tournament twice in 2012 and 2013. This year, he has played in just six tournaments but failed to win any of these.
