India now has a menstrual drink. Yes, for real.

This brand, which calls itself India's first Menstrual beverage brand, launched a menstrual drink and we are very confused about it.

This brand just launched its first menstrual drink

Periods. If you are a woman in India, you know that the word itself screams taboo. It is one topic that is talked about in hushed tones or meek gestures. Why is that so? May be because it is related to a woman's vagina. And the infamous story of world's problem with a woman's vagina, is a tale that needs no retelling. To think about it, it seems like people's obsession with a woman's vagina is just never-ending.

Brands try tirelessly to sell products that shout women empowerment, vaginal empowerment and breaking taboos over periods. But alas. Only a few manage to succeed in their 'noble' task. And seems like a similar marketing error was made by a brand, called &Me, which boasts of selling India's first 'Menstrual Drink'.

What is that, you ask?

In their words, if you want to feel good and purify yourself from the inside out, their &Me drink is the solution. When you read their product description, for once, you may end up thinking that it is the best thing that any woman would want, to cure their PMS and cramps. But when you go back and read the way they are marketing the product, you are left disappointed.

Why? Because they call it a Menstrual Drink. That's it. Period. The first thing that comes to your mind after reading it is blood, and probably a drink made of your menstrual blood (and that's an instant throwback to the messy Kangana Ranaut-Adhyayan Suman fight from 2016). The starter pack, comprising four bottles, is priced at Rs 320. And why would you want to sell a drink, meant to cure your cramps, with the name Menstrual Drink?

We guess, welcome to the world of weird vaginal products.

The company seems to have found one solution to every period problem ever through this drink, but sadly not a solution to their marketing strategies. That's why vaginas are best left alone. In their natural glory.
