Two Ferrari 599 GTB 60F1 Alonso Editions Are Up For Sale, Are They Worth It?

Fernando Alonso fans better pay attention as a couple of limited edition Ferrari 599 GTB 60F1s are up for grabs.

Based on the 599 GTB HGTE, the 60F1 is commonly known as the Alonso Edition as it celebrates the company’s 60th anniversary of winning a Formula 1 race. The first win occurred at Silverstone on July 14th, 1951 and was repeated nearly 60 years later when Fernando Alonso won a race on July 10th, 2011.

Production was limited to 40 units and each came equipped with Scuderia Ferrari shields, a satin-finish aluminum fuel cap and 20-inch diamond-finish forged  wheels. Other unique touches include an Alcantara interior, an Alutex-trimmed dashboard and signatures from Froilan Gonzalez and Fernando Alonso.

While the car isn’t too remarkable, it’s a limited edition Ferrari and that means it’s insanely expensive. The one listed on James Edition has 6,214 miles (10,000 km) on the odometer and the seller is asking for €550,000 ($629,200 / £497,129).

Customers won’t don’t want to make the trip to France have another option as Ohio’s Marshall Goldman Motor Sales just received a similar model. There’s no word on pricing or mileage, but they say their car is the “only known example to leave the factory with a wing installed on its boot.”

While it’s hard to get excited about a rear wing, Marshall Goldman also has some other interesting Ferrari models up for sale. The real highlight is a rare 599 SA Aperta which is essentially a 599 roadster. Only 80 units were built and this model only has only been driven a total of 300 miles (482 km). That helps to explain its staggering price of $1,689,900 (£1,335,553 / €1,477,386).

Speaking of roadsters, Marshall Goldman also has a 2005 Ferrari 575M Superamerica. The model is known for its unique roof and it’s a tad more affordable at $499,900 (£395,070 / €437,107).
