LUCKNOW: A clerk of Lucknow Development Authority was caught red-handed for accepting bribe outside LDA office in Gomtinagar on Wednesday.
He was nabbed by the anti-corruption organization (ACO) of UP Police.

Clerk was identified as Anil Kapoor.

An FIR under charges of corruption and taking bribe was registered against him.

ACO officials said Kapoor had demanded a bribe of Rs 5,000 from Mani Lal Verma of Thakurganj.

Verma had purchased a plot in Nehru Enclave in Gomtinagar and was making rounds of LDA office for its registry. Verma then met Kapoor who assured of registration if he paid him Rs 5,000. Verma informed ACO about Kapoor's demand.

ACO laid a trap on Wednesday. Its officials arrived in civvies outside LDA office.

Verma asked Kapoor to come outside office to collect money. While Kapoor was accepting money, a team of ACO nabbed him.
