more-in

A Uganda national, who was found moving suspiciously on Necklace road on Monday, attacked a head constable and police constable while being taken to the police station in the van.

When accused Benjamin (40) failed to produce his passport and travel documents to the Lake police, who were on patrol duty, they were taking him to the police station. When they reached Jalavihar, the accused banged his head on police constable PV Prabhakar’s face, who suffered bleeding injuries, and hit head constable Bhaskar Reddy with the elbow.

However, the police managed to take him to the police station and later remanded him in judicial custody. Police said he was overstaying in the country.
