PUNE: Zeal Education Society will soon face scrutiny by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), against the backdrop of alleged malpractices in its College of Engineering and Institute of Business Administration, Computer Application and Research, Zeal Polytechnic and Zeal Institute of Management and Computer Application (MBA).

AICTE has issued a notice to Zeal Education Society, directing it to appear before the Standing Complaint Scrutiny Committee (SCSC) on January 10, 2019.

The committee in a meeting with the representative of the Institute and complainant held on November 15, discussed several illegal activities. The activities are, 'use of fake faculty on AICTE postal, large number of faculty shown to Shiksha Shulk Samiti to increase the fee of the students, illegal construction and occupancy certificate not available,' read the notice.

"The matter is serious and a more detailed report is required from the Institute. The Institute has sought time to submit the supported documents for which the committee has approved. Also the complainant needs to submit affidavit to support the allegations,” said Narendra Singh, Deputy Director of Grievance Redressal Cell of AICTE.

When Sakal Times contacted Jayesh Katkar, Executive Director of Zeal Education Society, he replied that he hasn’t received any such notice from AICTE and therefore refused to comment on it.
