Sensex sheds over 200 pts amid weak global cues; Nifty tests 10,600

The benchmark BSE Sensex declined for a fourth straight day on Wednesday amid weak global cues. on short-covering by investors amid weakness in Asian markets. Global stock markets remained under selling pressure over political uncertainty in the US and worries of global economic slowdown. At 09:18 AM, The benchmark BSE Sensex was trading 191 points, 0.54 per cent, lower at 35,279.52. NSE Nifty was trading lower 55 points, or 0.52 per cent, at 10,608.45.
