5-year-old boy killed in predator attack
Mazhar Ali | TNN | Dec 27, 2018, 03:52 ISTChandrapur: A five-year-old boy was killed in predator attack in village Chichgaon (Baradkinhi) in Brahmapuri tehsil on Tuesday evening. The victim, Surendra Dhore (5), was playing in front of his house when a feline attacked and killed him.
Camera trap pictures revealed that the assailant predator was a leopard. Bramhapuri Forest division has decided to send a proposal to PCCF wildlife seeking permission to capture the problem leopard, sources claimed.
Brief tension was witnessed in the village following the incident. A large crowd had gathered at the residence of the victim demanding immediate measures to curb predator attacks. Forest officials of North Brahmapuri forest range rushed to the spot and pacified the villagers.
People are baffled by the intrusion of predator into the villages.
This is the 27th human kill in predator attack in the district this year.
