Additional PP manhandles senior judge at court premises, tries to end life
Soumitra Bose | TNN | Dec 26, 2018, 14:42 ISTNAGPUR: Senior divisional civil judge KR Deshpande was slapped by addl public proscutor Deepesh Parate in the corridor of the sixth floor of district court housed at Nyay Mandir premises on Wednesday. Parate was later saved by a constable when he had tried to end life.
Sources from court said Parate assaulted Deshpande when the senior judge walked out of the chamber of another colleague whom he had gone to meet over an adminiatrative purpose. Parate, son of a senior counsel, was learnt to be miffed by an order in a personal civil case.
The court security, alerted by an alarm raised by Deshpande and others, intercepted Parate when he was running towards a window.
Parate was handed over to Sadar police station where an offense is set to be registered against him. Judge Deshpande was sent for medical examination at Mayo hospital.
