CBSE Class X & XII examination date sheet announced

PUNE: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the date sheet for the Class X and XII Board examinations to be held in February-March 2019.

The Class X examination will commence on February 21 and continue till March 29. The Class XII Board examination will be held from February 15 to April 3.

According to a notification released by CBSE earlier this year, the Board has decided to conduct the examination of skill subjects in latter half of February. Thus, the examinations for the regular subjects for Class X will begin from March 5, and those for Class XII will start from March 2.

The circular released by the CBSE stated that date sheet of the Board examination is prepared based on the subject combinations opted by the students of both the classes. It has been observed that this year, students have opted for around 30,000 combinations of subjects in both the classes.

While last year there was a row over the placement of the papers and the preparation holidays offered to each paper, this year, the Board has claimed that it has taken into consideration that students get sufficient time between examinations of important subjects. Also, it has been mentioned that the dates of the competitive examinations may not coincide with the Board examinations.
