Parking issue leads to communal clash

VADODARA/ANAND: A petty quarrel over parking a bike snowballed into communal clashes in Pipli village of Anand's Borsad taluka on Sunday night.
Members of both communities had entered into a verbal spat over a person parking a bike near the house of Magan Ravji in Daskapura area at around 9.30pm. Soon, mobs began pelting stones at each other that left six persons including a police constable Kuldeepsinh Balwantsinh injured. .
Even as Bhadran police rushed to the spot, stone pelting continued. The mobs also targeted police vehicles and rickshaws that were stranded at near Bhattiji temple in the village. Later, additional force was deployed at the village after which the situation was brought under control.
Bhadran police has registered complaints against a group of 15 accused and a mob of 40 persons from both the communities for rioting and damaging public property. On Monday, too, police remained stationed at the village to keep a close watch of the miscreants.
It is worth mentioning here that in September too, the village had witnessed a full-fledged communal clash during Ganesha immersion procession when the groups had restored to stone pelting after dispute over playing loud DJ music and bursting fire crackers near a masjid.
