'Pilot-Gehlot disagreement in Rajasthan delays portfolio allocations'
TNN | Dec 26, 2018, 02:09 ISTJAIPUR: Discontent among Congress veterans denied ministership in CM Ashok Gehlot's new government, deputy CM Sachin Pilot on Tuesday hinted at another cabinet expansion in the offing.
"Every division of the state has representation in the council of ministers. It was the first expansion. Another may happen in some time. Several legislators will get a chance to serve," Pilot said.
On Monday, 23 ministers were sworn in, including 18 first-timers and 10 junior ministers. But the all-important distribution of portfolios is pending allegedly over a deadlock between Gehlot and his deputy.
Sources said their major disagreement is on who gets key portfolios, including home and finance. Party in-charge Avinash Pandey met with both netas after the swearing-in and submitted a report to party president Rahul Gandhi. "If the two don't resolve the matter amicably, Gandhi will stamp the list of portfolios," said a Congressman .
