Theme park to be inaugurated at Ajwa

VADODARA: The first of its kind amusement park in the state will be inaugurated near the Ajwa Reservoir on Tuesday. The amusement park has been developed on the lines of leading theme parks in the country and abroad, but on a smaller scale.
The project has come up on an area of 75acres and includes over 50 rides that many may find inspired by similar parks abroad or in Maharashtra. Sources said that it may be named Atalji Amusement Theme and Adventure Park of India (AATAPI). The acronym AATAPI has so far been used for Ajwa Amusement Theme and Adventure Park of India.
Sources said that the project has come up with an investment of around Rs 125crore with the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd contributing Rs 75crore and the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) giving the land. The private partner Cube Construction Engineering Ltd has borne he remaining cost and will also operate the theme park. The work on the theme park began on
Apart from developing the theme park, the existing Vrundavan gardens located near the theme park has been renovated. The garden now has laser shows and a new musical fountain.
According to VMC, the tender for the project had included only 30 rides, shows and activities, the actual number of those put up at the site is now over 50.
The project will be inaugurated by chief minister Vijay Rupani in the presence of deputy chief minister Nitin Patel and other dignitaries.
