The Ahmedabad traffic department has issued a notification disallowing parking, stopping and U-turns, and demarcating no-vehicle zon-es on roads leading to the carnival. Whosoever violates those rules will be fined heavily by traffic cops.

The cops could also detain the vehicle in question and in the worst case scenario, even lodge a case against the violater, to ensure that the carnival has no traffic issues.

The Additional Commissioner of Police, JR Mothaliya said that the traffic restriction will come into place from 7pm until 1am at night. There will be around 300 traffic cops deployed in bandobast who will ensure smooth flow of traffic. Apart from that, 15 towing trucks will also be there to tow away vehicles causing traffic jams.
