The Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad (IIT-H) has improved its placement record this year in the first phase with 213 offers being made by 80 companies to the students.
Last year, 191 students had been placed in 68 companies.
A total of 418 students registered for Phase I of placements, which concluded on December 22. IIT-H students have already accepted 17 pre-placement offers from companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, Schlumberger, Qualcomm, Goldman Sachs, Swiggy, Electronic Arts and D.E. Shaw. Indian Space Research Organisation has recruited two students during 2018-19 session, according to information provided by IIT-H.
“I am happy to see that the demand for IIT-H students is high. I am happy to inform that the TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductors) has offered jobs to many Ph.D research scholars from IIT-H. Many Japanese companies have also shown interest in our students and more than 10 Japanese companies visited the campus this year,” said Amit Acharayya of IIT-H.
