The city police has booked cases against the management of Global Hospital and also against three persons for allegedly vandalising the hospital after the death of a patient.
It was on Monday night that the sons of a woman who died while undergoing treatment allegedly vandalised the hospital premises and attacked the staff. The three accused have been identified as Mir Mohiuddin Khan, Mir Barkat Ali Khan and Mir Mustafa Ali Khan .
Addressing the media, DCP (Central Zone) P Vishwa Prasad said that after receiving a call from the hospital on Monday night, a team of constables rushed to the scene but could not overpower the alleged vandals. “They (alleged vandals) were very strong and stout and they almost manhandled the constables. The inspectors and the ACP arrived at the spot almost at the same time. They were taken into custody. The incident is unfortunate. Those who indulged in acts of violence were sons of the deceased. It was a spur-of-the-moment incident,” he said.
Mr Prasad said a case has been registered after the deceased’ s sons complained to the police against the hospital management.
Similarly, acting on a complaint by the hospital’s chief security officer Mohammed Abdul Ghani, a case under Section 4 of the Telangana Medicare Service Persons and Medicare Service Institutions (Prevention of Violence and Damage to Property) Act of 2008 and relevant sections of the IPC has been booked against the alleged vandals and others.
