  • Ferrari driver caught speeding 100km/h over the speed limit at Bondi Junction
  • Police pulled over hoon on Monday morning and tested for drugs and alcohol
  • Test was negative and man was charged with speeding and dangerous driving 
  • The 24-year-old is set to appear at Waverley Local Court on January 22 next year 

A hoon in a supercar was caught driving 100km/h over the speed limit on Christmas Eve. 

Police pulled over the $300,000 Ferrari on Syd Einfeld Drive at Bondi Junction, Sydney just after midnight on Monday.

The Chester Hill native was allegedly caught speeding 180km/h in a 80km/h zone in a vehicle that was not registered to him.

The 24-year-old driver tested negative to an alcohol and drug test and was charged with exceed speed limit by more than 45km/h and drive in a speed dangerous to the public.

He will appear at Waverley Local Court on January 22 next year.

NSW Police continue to urge drivers to take caution over the Christmas period as Operation safe Arrival remains in force until January 1.

'We know everyone today is trying to finish work, fit the last-minute shopping in as well as getting to their Christmas destinations,' Highway Patrol Assistant Commissioner Michael Corboy told the Daily Telegraph.

'I would urge everyone to consider getting a good night's sleep and extra time to get to your destination.'

Already police have doled out 5,883 infringements across the state.

Speeding fines already number 3,502, drink-driving charges reached 183 and deaths sit at two.   

Most recently a 19-year-old Narrandera local was killed after a ute left the road and rolled on Saturday night.

The 19-year-old driver is still in hospital.
